Awe, how sweet this is. You are right, it is amazing to see this bond between parent and offspring.
 
Yup you got that right Malc and this image is spot on mate!Perfect exposure on the bill which is a nightmare in sunshine.

Coots may be common but to capture one in this setting and to do it with a nice exposure of the dark head and light bill shows skill in shooting. The green foreground and BG are icing on the cake. Looks like a nice low angle, too. Awesome shot!
 
I would agree that you have achieved close to if not perfect exposure in this shot. It is a touching moment, a great behaviour capture. Love the angle too.
