An occasional visitor (Turdus pilaris)

This was such a lovely way to close the year.

I knew the blob at the top of the tree wasn't a 'usual' blob, so started snapping away and was so pleased to find a Fieldfare sitting up there. A species that comes in only very rarely to the garden. The last time was about 2 years ago.

He was only there for about 3 minutes, so I was lucky to spot him I think.

Lovely pose and setting for this beautiful shot, Delia ... nice work ... tfs ...

A fabulous shot of this rare visitor in a lovely setting, Delia. The same here, I haven't seen a Fieldfare in a very long time. Thanks for sharing.
Best Wishes.

Well captured Delia...A few years ago, we had one of these in our tiny urban garden for about 6 days. I put apples out for the Blackbirds, but the Fieldfare came in and took right over. It would't let em anywhere near the apples.

Great bird to have in your garden Delia. Tfs

The only one I that have ever seen in my garden was on 25th Jan 2014, which was RSPB census day as it happened!
