Many thanks for the info in your own patch with the water holes. The one I was visiting had a little leak, so Hans is going to have to repair it (not sure if he's done it yet). I'm not sure if the birds knew the sound of his vehicle, but they weren't long coming in, even after a break of a week or more!

Gorgeous shot :clap: :clap: Last time I got a shot of an Anna's nectaring on pineapple sage was in my mother's garden in Sonoma, CA. But that was years ago, before I had the equipment and skills I have now :( Mom also had volunteer sunflowers in the garden, probably from bird feeder seeds the birds had dropped. I got a fun series of shots of a scrub jay flying up to grab seeds from a ripe sunflower.
