'Another New Bird!!...... (Haematopus longirostris)

This weekend has been a great one, first I got the photos of the Wedgies, next had my website up dated, thanks to Kelly and Geoff, and then went down to the beach at Point Cook and got this and many more shots of this beautiful Pied Oystercatcher! Pete and I had decided to visit a saltwater sanctuary at Point Cook, when we went in we visited the birdhide but no one around as 'NO water!!!..Went on a bit further and stopped at a carpark near the beach. I went on ahead of Pete and the first bird that I sighted was this beautiful one!.........No wonder you guys and girls love taking sea shots! It was quite exhilarating and to find this and the 'Silver Gull' ,another first for me, was just fantastic! We only stayed for about an hour and I wished that it could have been longer but maybe we will be able to go again! The 'two' Oystercatchers stayed around for a little while but the Silver Gulls were still there when we left! I do hope that you like this one!

Great flight shot Nora, a pleasure to watch, well exposed and that red eye looking back at you is a plus .. well done!

This is a great shot Nora. Excellent the way the eye is just peeping back at you like that over the wing. You must be chuffed (Iwonder if that word is Oz slang too). :)

Thanks Max for your comment
Tim, 'chuffed' would be an understatement, thanks!
