well guys posted images in the id forum 2 replies for garden warbler so that makes 6 for garden and 4 for whitethroat so far.my gut instinct is garden warbler as i see and hear quite a few whitethroats here and have been looking them up and this guy seems to show the grey colouring behind and below the ear coverts too.my birding does get a grip of you i remember when i just loved taking photos now i want to know what i am taking photos of.so posting another shot with no branches removed.if only i had paid more attention when this one was singing i would have took alot more captures.

Great capture, Margaret. I said Garden Warbler, and this pic confirms it for me. I can see this bird doesn't have pale legs... a Common Whitethroat would have.
