I am beginning to regret missing a few days of birdforum and letting this beautiful Apollo butterfly from you Bernard!

Apologies for the late comment, do you have any idea why they name this one 'Apollo'? :t::t::t:

No Sam,I have not found any convincing explanation to date for the strange name of this mountain eurasian butterfly :C...Because Apollo was also the protector of the herds? (the butterfly lives notably in the alpine pastures).

I know that Apollo was the name for the Greek sun god...when i hear the name Apollo i think of that?
