Argentine Black-and-white Tegu
Argentine Black-and-white Tegu Lizard (Salvator merianae: Teiidae) Females reach 0.9 m (3 ft) long while males reach 1.2-1.4 m (4-4.5 ft) in length. Adults weigh from 2.5-7 kg (5.5-15.4 lbs). This individual was being harassed by a Ringed Kingfisher. South Wild, south of Pocon, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Cerrado (savannah) with riparian woods and scattered wetlands adjacent to the Pixaim River at ca. 128 m (420 ft) elevation.
