Was walking thru Wilson's Reserve when I heard and later saw 3 highly aggitted Pied Currawongs in the upper tree foliage ahead of me. It appeared that the object of their attention was some sort of raptor or so I thought because it was standing and had its head extended and it's profile looked like one. Only when it turned toward me did I realise that I had a Powerful Eagle in my sights. Pity the foliage got in the way but it was an exciting catch!!
Just look at those outsized legs ..they have 'power' written all over them maybe thats how this owl got its name. :)
Broc...why dont you complete the words..AS I was passing....wind.:-O...i saw the bird...hi my friend..that how i see all my birds..lol...:'D..well done my friend..superb spotting ..Thanks for sharing.:t:B
You must have been over the moon with this one Broc. (PS, in your excitement you have written "powerful eagle" in the description.) These guys take Greater Glider Possums out of the trees for their evening meals. Love the look skyward in this one. I wonder if its thinking, If those Currawongs don't shut up I'm going up there to rip their heads off.
