Attwater's Prairie Chicken (male)
Greater Prairie Chicken (Attwaters Prairie Chicken, Tympanuchus cupido subsp. attwateri) Male, species sexually dimorphic. I took these pictures Saturday morning at Attwater Prairie Chicken Wildlife Refuge. This species is listed as an endangered species by both the Federal Government and by the State of Texas. The refuge is situated in the middle of a triangle with the points being Columbus, Sealy and Eagle Lake, Texas. The refuge is in Colorado County, Texas, USA. Native Coastal Prairie with intact mima mounds at ca. 59 m (195 ft) elevation.

Great look at this rarity looking right at ya! Fascinating! Unbelievable history of this Prairie Chicken. This is the one that used to be in Wisconsin?
