Australian Brush Turkey chick
This is the first time that we have had a Brush Turkey in our garden.Not rare in the more untouched areas,it is however not common in built-up areas.The Brush Turkey chick,like other Megapodes,dig their way out of the incubating mound,ready to face the world on their own.No contact with their parents,they manage to forage by themselves.Their flight feathers are fully developed at birth also.
