Autumn arrivals
I managed to get a few visits in to Kinnordy in October, before the light hours became too short.

As soon as I sat down in the hide, some geese flew over, had no time to adjust the camera settings so not the best of pictures.

Pretty sure they're Pink-foot though. My first of the season.

The irregular V of the group is a good indication that they're Pinkfeet. They're such small geese that they don't need to fly in orderly rows. Of course, other geese might break ranks briefly, and Pinkfeet might occasionally fly in a neat V, but usually these scattershot Vs are the Pinkfeet. At least, that's what we were told on the bird ID course. They also call out their name as they fly - Pink Pink Pink, or so one can imagine. A clearer, crisper, and higher-pitched call than the Canadas or Greylags.
