Autumnal water colours
Today I made the big jump to using fully manual settings on my first inexpensive bridge camera, bought three months ago, and to shooting purely in RAW ... it seemed like a labyrinth at first, but I had a fantastic day just experimenting with my settings on the ducks on the canal. It was only when I got home that I noticed the amazing colours being reflected on the water from the autumnal trees and some dilapidated sheds on the far bank. So much to learn - but what an absorbing hobby this has become! :)

Very nice, there's a lot going on with the colours, lighting, reflections and ripples. A fascinating image.

Those colours really make for an interesting image McHeath.

A fabulous picture you've taken of these Mallards. Thanks for showing it to us.

BTW our new system relies on the Tags (the luggage label) when searching the Gallery. So as well as entering the scientific name in the relevant field, it also needs to be entered as a Tag, along with the common name and location (country at least).

Any other information you want to add to the Tags for your own use would be a bonus! I hope you can help with this. It would be such a shame if your fabulous pictures didn't get returned in searches for people to look at.

Thank you Delia!
I've tried to add the tags, but when i click on "add note/tag" I don't get an option to actually add anything. Am I missing something? I've tried all the various editing options, but nothing gives me the possibility of adding a tag...
All the best, and thank you for your help,

Andrew

Hi Andrew

There are two ways to do it. If you are uploading a new picture, the very last field at the bottom of the screen is where you can add the tags as you go along.

Click into the field and type (or copy in), say, the scientific name for the bird, followed by a comma. Then do any other tags in the same way.

If you want to add a tag to an existing image; click on the luggage label and the pane will open up so you can type them in there. Again, follow each one with a comma. When you have done all you want to do, remember to click on Save.

If you want more help with this send me a Private Message (it's called a "Conversation" now)

Hope this helps.
