Avocet juvenile (Recurvirostra avosetta)

Last one - for now honest! Just to complete the photos from last week. A 33 days old chick on it's own. One from the family of four juveniles. They were still around today but spending much more time in flight circling and moving backwards and forwards over the reserve in 1/2 mile flights.
Location
Greatham Creek, Cleveland, UK
Date taken
9th July 2008
Scientific name
Recurvirostra avosetta
Equipment used
Canon 40D+Canon 400mm f5,6
Your 33-days-old chick doesn't look like a chick any more, does it? ;) Now it is a full grown-up beautiful Avocet but in a teenager outfit! :bounce: Excellent picture, Ian, as all the others in this magnificent series!!! :t: :t: :loveme:

Lovely shot Ian, as usual, really pleased to hear all the chicks are doing well.
