Bahama Woodstar (Calliphlox evelynae)

A Male Bahama Woodstar 'reaching' for a drink ;)
The Woodstars are a distinct group of hummers, as they have deeply forked tails and buffy coloured under bellies.
They can be found all around The West Indies and the carribean islands.
Sit back, enjoy, and pretend you are in the Bahamas...:t:

I wish I was there, Sam!!! ;)

Superb job done with this stunner of the shining violet throat!!!  The colourful and big tropical-looking flowers makes it to look very delicate and dainty (even if it not among the daintiest Hummers, ;)) An absolute beauty of artwork, Hummergirl!!! ;) :loveme:

Absolutely lovely Sam! I have to agree with Tilly. It is such a gloomy day here today and you've brightened it up considerably ;)

Thank you so much for this lovely painting. It's good to get my hummingbird fix, as it's way too cold here lately. I've seen many eagles, which is great, but hummers are still my favorites. I'll have to wait for April(at least) before they return.
