LOL yes... got it. They're pretty good at balancing, aren't they.

I think they tuck one foot up at a time to warm them up in cold weather. But do birds seem to manage very well with only one leg.

I see you got that other picture ID'd as a young HG. If I'd sat and looked at it a bit longer I might've got there. The two black-backs have very much darker juvenile plumage! DOH!! Trouble is I'm inclined to panic when I see young gulls! LOL
