Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)

A quick break from Australian trip pics to post this Bald Eagle shot from this morning on home patch. This is one of a few resident eagles we have in my area. We usually get quite a few wintering eagles also but they haven't started showing up yet. The influx of eagles from Canada and the northern NY mountains usually start to show up after the water bodies north of us start of freeze as there are a few spots near hydro plants were there is open water mostly all year round.
