Bald eagles fighting (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)

Typical scene at the Chilkat River in Alaska. I visited there last November to see the 3,000+ eagles that gather there for the late salmon run. The eagle on the left in this shot is not fully mature, as seen by the darkness of the beak and the darker areas on its head and tail. Eagles were constantly fighting over the abundant salmon.
Habitat
River flats, salmon run
Location
Chilkat River, Alaska
Date taken
14-NOV-2007
Scientific name
Haliaeetus leucocephalus
Equipment used
Canon EOS-1D Mark III ,Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM
Excellent shot. Good to have the (what looks like a 3rdto 4th year bird) juvenile with the adult for comparison. Well done. :t: :t::t: :t: :D

What a fantastic behavior/flight capture, Liz. The feather details, intensity of the birds and coloring are all dead on perfect.
