Here's a view of a typical scene along the Chilkat River in Alaska. The eagle to the right has a piece of salmon and isn't too happy as others move in. There's plenty to go around, though.
It must be fantastic to see one of these birds, let alone five of em, lucky you, super capture. I hope I get to see one of these when we visit the States in september.
Thanks, there were about 3,000 eagles at the river then. Everywhere the eye turned, there'd be a sight like this. Of course that was Alaska, not something you'd typically see in the lower 48. What part of the States are you visiting? It's not uncommon to see them flying around, depending on where you go. For example, here in the midwest they have made a great comeback. In Minnesota we have well over a thousand nesting pairs. During the winter there are many along the Mississippi River, especially at the dams where they congregate around the unfrozen water.
