Barn Owl (Tyto Alba)

I spent a couple of hours last night looking for barn owls near Garvald, East Lothian (Scotland) without luck. I had tested the camera focus and exposure on a fence post before setting out, reckoning that any owl I saw would be on a fence at the drivers side of the car. On my way home, near Humbie, I came across an owl hunting and waited for it to land - and so it did, very near to me! My focus guestimate seemed to work fine.
