Barnacles on the move

Barnacles on the move (Branta leucopsis)

When changing flights in Copenhagen (which tends to be the case on many of my trips abroad), I like to book a long layover, long enough that if I've packed smart, with only my camera backpack and maybe a purse to carry, then I can leave the airport and spend a few hours at the wildlife preserve right alongside it. For the next week or so, I'll be posting images from such a layover break in August '15. Unfortunately, for my next trip, the airline has rescheduled me so I won't get to do this :( Oh well. Maybe March isn't the greatest season for birding there anyway. The US trip after that (August) should be the start of Fall migration season again.
