Barny (Tyto alba)

I hadn't seen a Barn Owl at Eastbridge for more than a year
Their usual hunting grounds suffered serious flooding last winter and spring
plus the Environment Agency had been doing extensive work on the riverbanks through the summer.
I thought they had left the area but last week I saw this one hunting the fields,
I couldn't get very close but was quite pleased with the way this turned out
and it's wonderful to know that they are still around

A gorgeous picture and a brilliant information to know they are still trying to stay around. Excellent picture Tony!!!

Tony, this image is amazing! Not only is it a sharp capture of a beautiful bird, but the story that lies in the habitat makes it extra special. I love images like this, and best of all is how well contrasted the owl is against the b/g which keeps the bird in immediate focal perspective. Excellent!
