Barred Antshrike (female)
Barred Antshrike (Thamnophilus doliatus nigricristatus) female with an unripe Firebush fruit (Hamelia patens: Rubiaceae). Fruits are black at maturity.
Habitat
Along the margin’s of Río Guayabo. Tropical premontane broadleaf forest (cloud forest/ rain forest) at 626 m (2,054 ft) elevation; situated in a caldera of an extinct volcano. Grounds planted to attract birds and butterflies (Lantana, Porterweed, Firebush, etc.).
Location
Canopy Lodge, El Valle de Antón, Coclé Province, Panamá.
