Barred but not behind them
Now it was time to get some practise in with the new Nikon P900 that I'd just purchased from Hans and Judy. For a few sessions, there will be a mix of images from the two cameras.

Even though finches aren't generally large, these guys are really tiny and look like little mice running around.

They're really sweet though, and it was a pleasure to see so many in Hans' garden.

A great close up of this attractive finch Delia. Just checked and they're less than four inches long, which is decidedly small. In a bizarre way the barring recalls a pratincole!

Lighting was clearly rather difficult but the camera seems to have dealt with it well. The P900 seems excellent. Very good lens, and 83x optical zoom gives it a lot of reach! A very nice camera to have.

He looks like he's planning an escape route :) Remember Delia, there is a setting just for birds on your P900. I use it as well at the U setting which is your own private setting for color, sharpness, and even contrast. The other settings are not used yet do to my inability for laughing out loud.

a great closeup of this handsome little finch, Delia, they sure look quite attractive, top marks, many tfs!!!

Oooh! New kit, and a newish bird (I think you posted some of these earlier as well?)! Very cute shot too, with him peering straight at you |=)|
