Battle of the Beaks. (Dendrocopos major/Coccothraustus.)

Four Woodpeckers and lots of Hawfinch all wanting the same perch or feeder spells trouble. At first it was like a huge game of Tag around the feeder, the woodpeckers not tolerating any bird on their patch.
But there is always one that refuses to move even for the woodpecker. She moved up the post slowly the Hawfinch aware of her presence, they moved closer and I managed this photo as the beaks were almost touching. Love this birding.
