Beak glistening in the sun... (Falco peregrinus)

Surprisingly little people saw the peregrine today atop a church, despite a cascade of feathers raining down from one of the spires and the shrieking of the peregrine itself.
I thought it would be done there quickly and fly to the nest, but it seemed intent on feeding itself. The chicks were unusually quiet, and this was the first time I didn't see them. That all changed this afternoon...
