Beauty Alights

When not distracted by birds, I like to photograph insects that I find particularly striking. I was feeding chickadees when this fella flew in and perched on the sumac....I immediately dropped the sunflower seeds to take some photos as the colours of this dragonfly thrilled me. I have never seen a combination of green and pink before, and I'm not sure what it is. It reminds me of the Common Pondhawks I've seen. If anyone knows what it is, please tell me!

After seeing many more of these guys in the past month, I have been able to identify it as a Common Green Darner. Definitely one of my favourites!
