Belted Kingfisher 1 (Megaceryle alcyon)

This Kingfisher nailed a crawdad/crayfish. She smacked it against the branch several times, apparently in an effort to kill it. Unfortunately, she dropped it. The next photo shows her peering down towards the stream, as her catch drifts away. She was not too happy about the situation. I apologize for the coloring.

Date taken
04/03/2020

That is some meal she caught! What a shame she dropped it and lost it.
