Bempton Gannet (Morus bassanus)

Well, here it's a classic, a Gannet from Bempton Cliffs. I had an utterly enjoyable day there with Gavia, Mike (Sandpiper) and Cora (Adalia)!!! :bounce:

I suppose I should have done a better job (judging by the impressive pictures the people take there, :eek!:)... I have no excuses... Still, it was my first time taking pictures of Gannets and I'm relatively pleased with this one, so into my gallery it goes as it's a newbie and I want to share it with everybody!!! o:)
Habitat
Cliffs
Location
Bempton Cliffs, E England
Date taken
11 August 2010
Scientific name
Morus bassanus
Equipment used
Canon 50D + borrowed 100-400mmm (handheld, ISO400, f/5.5, 1/2500s, +2/3ev)
LOL, Ove!!! :-O No, they have not moved, I'm afraid! ;) Sorry, I'm in crisis, only a couple of bird pictures to upload and I've run out of shots to show, sniff! :-C And with no chances to take photographs in a long time, more sniff (*sobbing*)!!! I've been cheking for other things to show, Butterflies for example, but other subjects that are not birds are not very much appeciated and I don't want to bore the people...

Still, I thank again everybody for interest shown in my pics... which I don't know if I deserve. I consider myself a "circumstancial photographer" and almost an "outcast" after watching what I see in the general fabulous work of this gallery every day! :eek!:

Never boring,Marian!!!!!! You could point your camera on anything and make it look beautiful as long as you like it yourself.

Marian, I say this is a stunning Gannet capture, wonderful piece of work amiga!

Cheers, ROD.

Marian, I nearly missed this beauty. What a stunning capture of this beautiful gannet. o:D

Your comments about this photo of yours are far too modest, my friend. It is an absolute stunner. :king:

Have no fear about uploading your beautiful photos, amiga Marian. Whether they are birds, bugs or buddies, they are beautiful. Just keep them coming. ;)

It looks good to me Marian...how have I managed to miss your recent posts?!!!! Just imagine you might have an opportunity to photograph him again on his journey south:t:

Love the detail and wing spread of this one Marian, great stuff, super birds these, watched them from the back of the ferry, gliding in and out of the ships wake, wonderful to see.
