Big spots
When I first saw this woodie, I thought it was a female, but now looking closer at an enlarged picture, it's quite clear that it's a juvenile - there's just a few red feathers left on the crown.

I'm not sure if it's possible to sort the sex of them at this stage though.

Good work Delia, especially through window glass. You're right that it has to be a juv - I imagine that a few days later it would have lost those last red feathers.
