Bittern

Bittern

Couldnt make Gigrin after all yesterday due to some commitments.I did manage an hour at a lake in the morning near Cardiff though where I heard of there being both a Bittern and a Red Crested Pochard.
Literally as I sat down in the hide this guy came straight towards me.The sun was very low in the sky as it was still early and my camera wasnt set up for a flight shot either hence 1/125th sec.Not the best flight shot I have taken but with it being my very first sighting of a Bittern I am very pleased with it.

Oh and a few minutes later the RC Pochard landed right in front of me so I got that as well. What an hour eh!
