Handsome bird, posing proudly and well captured :t: :t: I'm guessing those catkins are on its menu ...? Catkins are usually a pretty good protein and carb source.

I'm guessing the Fritz's picture (Felix) is the Nominate subspecies and does have a 'speckly breast'; while your subspecies is much cleaner?
