Black-billed Cuckoo
On a trip to the Carden Alvar in Ontario, Canada to see the Loggerhead Shrike, I was able to observe and photograph a cooperative pair of Black-billed Cuckoos. Black-billed Cuckoos like to feed on caterpillars.

According to Cornell All About Birds website, "Cuckoos eat many spiny caterpillars and the spines stick in the lining of the stomach. The stomach lining is periodically shed to remove the spines."
Superb shot and such interesting habitat information!!

Wow, that's a spectacular shot. I've never seen this bird, and didn't know you had it in Ontario. Interesting info, too. Thanks for the posting!
