Love these busy little birds. They make me laugh on a regular basis. One of the best things about having a hide in the back garden is being able to spend the time observing the birds. The small group of Chickadees that come in to my feeders keep themselves quite busy stashing seed. They'll eat a few then go back to the feeder, get a seed then flit off to the Hydrangea tree and stash the seed in the bark. Usually in the late afternoons the female Downy Woodpecker goes into the tree and retrieves the seeds the Chickadees have put there during the day. Makes me laugh! I've also observed The Chickadees hiding seeds in the top openings of the reed fencing, doesn't make me laugh because the Grey Squirrels have shredded the top of the fence looking for the Chickadee stash. I'm having way too much fun!
