Black-crowned Night Heron 2 - still stalking (Nycticorax nycticorax)

I've "left him standing there" for several days now. Time to get back to this series. The other two ladies and I were fascinated by him standing there absolutely still, not so much as a feather moving for an amazingly long amount of time. Having earned my living as a model for the art school one year back in my student days, I was impressed. Standing absolutely still is hard work :eek!: Just try it. Even the most comfortable, relaxed position becomes downright painful after 10 minutes.

Wonderful group of photos. Standing frozen in time is the life of the Heron.
