Black-faced Solitaire
While exploring the forested edges in the grounds of the Savegre Lodge in the Talamanca Mountains, we heard the beautiful song of this member of the thrush family. We didn't think we would see it, as it is a lurker in the dense understory of the forest, but then our birding guide spotted it high in the canopy and I was able to get a couple of shots for the record. Not a very good photo, but the best I could get considering the distance and lighting involved, and I think this is a first for the Gallery and Database.
