Black fronted tern (Chlidonias albostriata)

Must say tern have to be just about my favourite birds. Living close to the wharf at Ruawai has been just wonderful as I have now seen five spices of these fabulous birds from there, this one being the most resent! Not in its full breeding splendour but still a very handsome bird and one that you are very lucky to see this far north in NZ.
