Black-headed Gull Take-off

Black-headed Gull Take-off (Chroicocephalus ridibundus)

This was my lucky shot that day, I did not expect the bird would take-off. I pressed the button and I saw the bird flying away! Luckily enough the shutterspeed was adapted for a take-off....

Just a few words about the new camera I just got, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ70. This camera I intend to use as a travelzoom camera, exactly where it is made for.
So this will not be the camera I normally use for birdphotography, because the zoomcapacity is limited. (30x optical zoom).
So occasionally I will post a picture made with that camera, if I think it is appropriate.

Oh well... you timed that well didn't you (or your camera did LOL)

It'll be interesting to see how your get on with this new toy Kees.

Great timing and superb detail for this fabulous shot, Kees!!! Thanks for sharing.

nice info kees and capture i love my bridge and not just for the zoom,if you master it well the bridge can take some pretty good shots but slower than dslr so you have to compensate and predict the birds next movement.all the best margaret.
