black-headed gull
I love photographing black-headed gulls this time of the year; due to the moulting process, they all look different. The backward moult of the head produces this ephemeral collared appearance, which gives them this “wise old man” look.

I remember when "frosting" ones hair was in fashion. My mom, whose hair was going naturally grey, got a compliment from one of her students who asked who her hairdresser was and how much it cost for a frosting job that looked so natural 🤣
