Black-necked Stork (Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus)

This is a view of the wide expanse of Roebuck Bay, near Broome, in NW Western Australia. The Black-necked Stork was previously called the Jabiru, but as there is a similar bird called Jabiru in Central and South America, its name was changed to stop any confusion!
Habitat
Sand and mud flats
Location
Roebuck Bay, Western Australia
Date taken
29 October 2009
Scientific name
Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus
