Black Scoter's (melanitta nigra)

This was my first sighting of the species. The males have the yellow knob and the females have the gray cheek. We were walking with friends along the beach toward the lighthouse on Sanibel when this flock came quite close. There were also plovers and peeps scurrying by along the beach.
