Black-striped Sparrow
Black-striped Sparrow (Arremonops conirostris striaticeps) Five subspecies are recognized with two being mapped for Panama. Subspecies richmondi is found in western Panama while subspecies striaticeps is found in Central and eastern Panama. Photographed near La Mesa, north of El Valle de Antn, Cocle Province, Panama. Secondary humid forest at ca. 823 m (2,700 ft) elevation. Sexes similar.

Sitting proudly, Stanley. Very nicely captured - an unusual and beautiful looking bird. I'd like to see that tail spread in flight. :t:

Great capture of this beautiful sparrow. One of this wakes me up every morning around 6 am right in my backyard.
