Black-striped Woodcreeper
Black-striped Woodcreeper (Xiphorhynchus lachrymosus lachrymosus) Three subspecies are recognized including the nominate. Two occur in Panama, subspecies eximus is restricted along the Pacific Coast in northwestern Panama. Photographed the nominate subspecies near La Mesa, north of El Valle de Antn, Cocle Province, Panama. Secondary humid forest at ca. 823 m (2,700 ft) elevation. Sexes similar.

Wow, what an unusual and beautiful looking bird, Stanley. The flash worked very well to bring out the detail in the plumage. Nice one!
