Black Swan
Black Swan (Cygnus atratus) Like many places in the world this species has been introduced but this swan does not know its not native. In fact, this individual does not know its a swan. It is more or less feral and apparently raised with Chinese Geese (another introduced species) which it thinks it is (lol). It will come out of the small lake and attack people walking by, including me. I found it hysterical. Sexes similar. Parque Nacional El Cajas, northwest of Cuenca, Azuay Province, Ecuador. Stand of elfin forest with Pramo vegetation at 3,353 m (11,000 ft) elevation.

:-O The poor thing Stanley! Was this on on the correct side of the Equator? I'm sure our ones get confused LOL.

A super picture that with all his feathers showing so well. Nice work lad.

Just gorgeous Stanley, stunning colours and amazing detail. A very universal swan this!

Wow! Fantastic image! I never knew that the black swans ruffled differently from the mutes.
