Black-tailed Godwit (Limosa limosa)

As our guide had predicted, the wetlands stop just before Tulcea was a pre-taste of what we would see on the Delta. Today and tomorrow will be some of what became the "usual, usual" sightings. For instance, even though the Whiskered Terns were lifers for many of us (including me) and generated some excitement at first, we quickly became jaded. From birds we listed with fairly exact numbers at our evening summary meeting the first night on the floatel, thereafter they were reported only with a "tick" as in "yeah, saw a lot of those today too."
