Black-tailed Prairie Dog Family (Cynomys ludovicianus: Sciuridae) These six youngsters (kits) are still under the protection of mom (on the left). One of the six youngsters is hard to see, you only see its back, rear end and the back of its head. Females give birth to one-six kits.

you know in Arabic we say Brairie = Prairie, always thought is there a connection.

anyway, this is a super capture of this cute group.
When I used to be stationed in Lawton, Oklahoma I used to see these guys at the park. I love them and here we are again enjoying these happy faces. Awesome, Stanley.
