Black-throated Gray Warbler (Setophaga nigrescens)

This species is both monochrome and monotypic (no subspecies). If you look carefully, a small yellow spot in the lores (front of the eye) is its only color. They breed in mixed pine/oak woodland in the foothills and mountains but are an uncommon migrant in the lowlands in our area.
