Blackbird Sunset

Blackbird Sunset

Once again I'm toying with the colors of the sunset to evoke an emotional response. Comments welcome. Even the critical. I'm a big girl, I can handle it.

The refuge has an annual congregation of blackbirds: Yellow-Headed, Red Winged, Tri-color(?), and Brewer's. They are mostly Red wings and they fly in huge flocks of about 200-10,000 birds.
Habitat
Agricultural wetlands
Location
Yolo Wildlife Refuge, California
Date taken
January 2008
Equipment used
Canon Eos Rebel 300mm
I'd love to witness "in the flesh" this colourful show you are introducing us here!!! :bounce: Lovely and evocative, girl!!! :t: :t: :t:

Thanks Julie. Thanks Marian. Our sunsets can be beautiful during the late Fall, but finding a sunset worth capturing during the Winter is (with camera in tow) difficult when your inland. That's why I'm playing with the colors. Fall provides the rich deep reds and golds, but I haven't been able to capture a descent shot yet.

Another really nice shot ayasuda, that sky is just peppered with the blackbirds. Keep the images coming :bounce: Enjoy your weekend |8)|
