Blackcap - male (Sylvia atricapilla)

Blackcap - male.. I am happy to say that my blackcaps, that wintered with us last year, have returned but a lot later.(November 2014) These were taken through the double glazing, in poor light, so they are a bit soft.
Habitat
Best looked for in woodland, parks and gardens with plenty of trees and shrubs. In winter will readily come into gardens.

The apple makes such a pretty setting for this gorgeous Blackcap.

A super picture this Keith.

I tried some of my birds on windfall apples.... and they just weren't interest!! Even with trying Doux's trick of smearing some peanut butter on them!!!

The important thing is that they are back! Great picture of this male to go along with the beautiful female. Quality work PS!!!

Shows late arrival of winters as is the case here. Two fabulous images of the black cap feeding, Keith!! tfs.

Nice composition on this close-up, Keith. They don't overwinter here; will be back in late March or early April.
