Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla)

Was delighted to see this female in my garden but disappointed with the poor light (1000 iso job) It has been noticeable this year the lack of birds in my garden compared to previous years at this time. Notably fieldfare and redwing.. I am assured it is a "one off" due to the good Summer and an abundance of natural food.

.... I hope you're right Kim... there's a noticeable lack of birds here too just now.

A super picture of your lovely little Blackcap - she's posing so nicely for you, isn't she.

What a very beautiful image this is Kim !!! Thanks for sharing it.
It's been quiet in my garden except for the starlings which are steadily increasing in number and eating everything in sight !!!
