Blackpoll Warbler

Blackpoll Warbler (Setophaga striata)

This species has one of the longest non-stop migration of any song bird. Most of the population migrates over the Atlantic Ocean from Canada and New England to South America. However a few individuals are apparently mirror-image misoriented and migrate towards the West Coast instead of to the East. In Fall plumage as seen here, they can be confused with other species such as Bay-breasted or Pine Warbler. Notice the pink legs and feet, the white undertail coverts and the lightly streaked mantle

Posing nicely, Joseph, and I like the way he is framed by the branches.

A great find for you Joe... that's such interesting information too; I guess that's how new populations occur in certain areas?

You've a splendid picture of him lad - very well done.
